How it works

From warehouse to working agents in three steps.

DataEmissary doesn't ask you to move data anywhere. It connects to the warehouse you already run, deploys specialist agents inside your perimeter, and delivers their work to your team on a schedule you control.

01 — Connect

Plug into the platforms you already trust.

Connection takes minutes. You grant DataEmissary a warehouse role with read access to the schemas your agents need — the same way you'd onboard an analyst. Agents inherit that role's permissions and nothing else.

S

Snowflake

  • Connects with key-pair authentication to your Snowflake account
  • Runs under a dedicated role you define — scoped to specific databases and schemas
  • Respects warehouse sizing, resource monitors, and query timeouts you set
  • Reads from governed models, metrics, and INFORMATION_SCHEMA
BQ

BigQuery

  • Connects to your GCP project with a dedicated service account
  • IAM roles limit agents to the datasets you approve
  • Runs in your region — data never crosses borders you didn't choose
  • Slot and cost controls stay entirely in your hands
02 — The agent loop

Every agent runs the same disciplined loop.

Agents aren't chatbots with database access. Each one is a specialist that repeats a tight observe–reason–deliver cycle on a schedule, with guardrails at every stage.

1

Observe

On schedule, the agent queries your governed models and metrics — the same certified definitions your team already uses. It checks freshness, scans for anomalies, and compares against baselines and history.

2

Reason

When something needs attention, the agent investigates: slicing across dimensions, tracing lineage upstream, and correlating with events like deploys or pipeline runs — until it has evidence, not guesses.

3

Deliver

Findings arrive as written briefs, refreshed reports, or alerts — with the queries and lineage attached so anyone can verify. Anything that changes data waits for your approval first.

03 — The agents

Specialists, not generalists.

Each agent is purpose-built for one workflow. Deploy the ones you need; skip the ones you don't.

R

Reporting Agent

Turns recurring reporting into a solved problem. Define the metrics once from your governed models; the agent rebuilds and refreshes every report on schedule and flags when definitions drift.

A

Anomaly Agent

Your always-on investigator. It learns the normal rhythm of every key metric, detects deviations worth human attention, traces root causes across dimensions and upstream tables, and writes up the brief.

Q

Quality Agent

Catches data problems before your stakeholders do. Continuous checks on freshness, completeness, distribution shifts, and schema changes — with alerts routed before anything breaks downstream.

G

Governance Agent

Keeps policy enforced without the spreadsheet. Monitors who accesses what, flags sensitive-data handling that breaks your rules, and maintains the lineage documentation auditors ask for.

Early access

DataEmissary is in development.

We're opening early access soon for data teams running on Snowflake and BigQuery. Tell us about your stack — we'll reach out when your agents are ready to deploy.
